Changelog
← Back to the calculator1.4.5
6 October 2026
Fixed
- Analytics settings in the footer now lines up with the other footer links.
1.4.4
6 October 2026
Fixed
- The About details are now a footer along the bottom of the page, so the version, changelog and credits are always one click away instead of folded up.
1.4.3
6 October 2026
Fixed
- The start screen no longer changes after it appears. The background picture used to fade in a second or more after the page, and the Table | Graph switch showed briefly and then vanished. The picture now loads with the page and the switch only appears once there is a plan.
1.4.2
6 October 2026
Fixed
- The start screen explains what the calculator does: working out production ratios, the Space Age planets and machines it plans with, and the table and graph views.
- The start screen now fits a phone screen instead of loading zoomed out, and adding it to a phone's home screen gives it an icon.
1.4.1
6 October 2026
Fixed
- In the graph view, the details panel for a selected item no longer runs its text into the gold line on the left and the rates into the right edge. The panel is a little wider, so item names and machine notes stay on one line.

New
- Byproduct warnings can be dismissed. The × on a warning folds it into one line with a Show button, and this browser remembers it until the leftovers change. A link you share still shows the warning.
Fixed
- Bring in from another build on uranium processing, advanced oil processing and other recipes with several outputs did nothing and flipped back to Make here. It now brings in what the plan uses, such as uranium-238.
1.3.0
5 October 2026
New
- Machine quality. Pick normal to legendary for each machine in Settings → Machines, or on an open row's Machine line, and the machine counts follow the faster crafting speed. Mining drills don't change, as in the game.
- Module and beacon quality. The module editor and Settings → Modules take a quality for each module and for the beacons themselves, with the game's bonuses: productivity 3 gives 10, 13, 16, 19 or 25%.
- With the companion app, From your save sets each machine to the quality most of its copies on that planet are built at.
- Byproducts. When a plan makes something nothing uses, such as the heavy and light oil from advanced oil processing with cracking off, a bar above the plan says which machines will back up and stop, and offers fixes it has already worked out: allow cracking, use basic oil processing, or send the oil out. Each fix says how many machines it adds or saves, and Undo puts the plan back.
- Advanced oil processing and other recipes with several outputs are named for themselves in the table and on the graph, with an icon for each output. On the graph, anything left over runs into a Left over card, or a Send out card once you send it out.
1.2.2
5 October 2026
Fixed
- Clicking a card on the graph also shows, on each of its lines, how many machines at each end one full belt covers: copper cable into advanced circuits reads "1 belt: 5 foundries → 180 assemblers".
- The line chips of a card selected in a shared link no longer sit on top of one another.
1.2.1
4 October 2026
Fixed
- Clicking a card on the graph now shows, on each of its lines, how many machines at one end feed how many at the other, and the ratio with the clicked card's machine as 1: copper cable reads "13.33 of 134 foundries → 480 assemblers, 1 : 36".
1.2.0
4 October 2026
New
- Modules per row and per machine. Open a row to set its modules and beacons, for just that recipe or for every row made in the same machine, such as every foundry. A row set by hand wins over its machine, and a machine wins over the plan.
- Every row shows its modules: a Modules column in the table, a strip on each graph card, and the lists in Settings.
- Settings → Modules sets the plan as a strategy: productivity wherever it's allowed, speed or efficiency where it isn't, and beacons around each machine.
- An open row compares its machines and power with no modules, with the plan's modules and with its own.
Fixed
- Quality modules can no longer go in beacons, as in the game.
- Beacon modules with a beacon count of 0 no longer break the plan.
1.1.3
4 October 2026
Fixed
- The module pickers in Settings show the module you chose. A productivity module used to sit out of sight below its box.
- The two module pickers say what they do: the first goes in every slot, the second where the first isn't allowed. Beacons get their own row.
- The belt line in Settings follows the rate unit, so items/second shows 15/second instead of 900/minute.
- "Science" no longer appears in search. Picking it gave an empty plan.
1.1.2
2 October 2026
- The credit to Kirk McDonald's calculator and the version number move from the landing screen to the About section.
1.1.1
2 October 2026
- The About section links to the author's website, jordanschnur.com.
1.1.0
2 October 2026
New
- The search box knows the abbreviations players type: GC, RC, BC, PU, LDS, RF, UG, prod3 and more. "gc 60" asks for 60 green circuits a minute.
- Plan by machine count: "yellow science 7 machines" plans for seven machines instead of a rate.
- The landing screen shows screenshots of real plans behind the search box.
Fixed
- Machine counts no longer go negative with lots of productivity modules. Speed now stops at −80%, as it does in the game; eight productivity modules in a cryogenic plant used to show a negative count.
- Icons no longer show slices of their neighbours at some sizes.
- The search results list draws over the landing screen text again instead of behind it.
1.0.0
2 October 2026
First public release at factoriocalculator.app.
- Factorio 2.0 and Space Age: pick an item and a rate and see every machine, belt and raw input.
- A table of everything the build needs, grouped into what you build here, what you bring in and what you mine or pipe in. Click a row for its ingredients, where it goes, its recipes and exact machine counts.
- A flow graph of the same plan. Hover a line for its belts and how many machines on each side it feeds.
- Plans only with machines you can build on the chosen planet, and lets you pin a recipe to a machine by hand.
- Belt counts as fractions ("1/3 belt"), and a colour-blind mode that writes the colour on belt and inserter icons.
- Kirk McDonald calculator links open here with the same plan.
Built on Kirk McDonald's calculator (Apache-2.0).
